Dr. Maria Eugenia Sabbatini Initiative
On Oct. 17, 2024, longtime and beloved College of Science and Mathematics faculty member Maria Eugenia Sabbatini, PhD, passed away after a months-long struggle with advanced kidney cancer.
In honor of her love of teaching and her drive for research, as witnessed in the photo above in the lab with a group of her students, a scholarship is being formed in Dr. Sabbatini's name to support undergraduates and graduate students in their research.
Financial Aid for Students
Your gift to the College of Science and Mathematics supports students who have dedicated themselves to the study of the biological sciences, chemistry and biochemistry, physics and biophysics, or mathematics. These fields of study provide a strong foundation in the sciences as well as preparation for careers, citizenship and a life-long love of learning. Your gift is a meaningful investment in these students and their pursuits.
Your gift to the College of Science and Mathematics can support students by:
- Increasing a scholarship endowment to help students offset tuition.
- Enabling students who have financial need to participate in research under the mentorship of a faculty member through the award of a stipend for a research assistantship.
