Student Scholarships: Opening Doors to Dental Education
The current estimated cost for a four-year DMD program is $110,000 for in-state students. Our top priority for Augusta Gives 2024 is to bolster student scholarships, making dental education more accessible. We're committed to bridging the dental care gap across our state, and scholarships empower talented students from low-income and rural communities to pursue their dreams, complete their training, and return home to serve their communities.
From our humble beginnings in 1969 with 25 students, the Dental College of Georgia has flourished. Today, we welcome 96 students per class year in Augusta, and we're thrilled to expand by adding 14 student spaces in Augusta and launching a new Savannah campus, adding 50 students per class year!
The need for scholarships rises each year as the cost to educate and train our future dentists, using the most sophisticated technologies and practices, continues to increase.
