Augusta University has the distinction of being the only public academic medical center in Georgia, including colleges of medicine, nursing, dentistry, and allied health. Offering those clinicians the opportunity to blend public health training and approaches with their clinical expertise will significantly boost AUβs impact on the health of individuals and communities across Georgia and beyond.
Our new School of Public Health will build on and amplify the great work that has already been happening across the university in various colleges and educational programs. By putting everyone under one roof, we can bring together students, faculty, and staff who have a deep knowledge of and commitment to Georgiaβs various communities. The synergies created by combining this outstanding talent in a single school will allow us to meaningfully address the distinct public health challenges faced in this state.
1. Student Scholarships β Our students are often juggling school, work, family, and budgets. Scholarships are so important for helping them complete their public health degree!
2. Summer Scholars - Our Summer Public Health Scholars Program is an 8-week paid internship that includes hands-on experience and immersion in a public health research setting. It is a wonderful opportunity for students to explore public health research and careers and get them excited about population health! Your donations to this fund will increase our capacity to take more summer scholars.
3. Area Health Fairs β Our faculty, staff, and students serve our local communities through area health fairs, providing free health screenings and health promotion materials. Donations to this fund will support the cost of supplies and laboratory testing
