Augustus the Jaguar, the official mascot of Augusta University, is a symbol of school spirit, pride, and connection for our entire campus community. While Augusta University has celebrated the jaguar as its mascot since 1933, Augustus stepped into the role in 2015, proudly continuing the tradition following the retirement of Al E. Cat after 23 memorable years of service.
Every appearance Augustus makes—at athletic events, campus celebrations, Homecoming, and community gatherings—helps energize the Jaguar Nation. With the support of a dedicated handler, he represents the university with enthusiasm, joy, and a welcoming presence that brings people together.
Donor support is what keeps this vibrant tradition alive. Your generosity helps ensure that Augustus can continue to uplift school spirit, connect with students and families, and serve as an enduring ambassador for Augusta University. Because of you, moments of pride, excitement, and belonging continue to shape the Jaguar experience for generations to come.
