College of Nursing

Through the generosity of alumni, faculty and friends, more than $125,000 in scholarships is awarded to College of Nursing students each year. Your gift to the College of Nursing endorses and supports the learning experience at the CON.

The College of Nursing is the flagship public college of nursing for the state of Georgia. For eighty years the college has developed nurses and employed internationally recognized faculty who change practice and improve lives through their research and evidence-based scholarship. The college does this through its five different programs, and boasts a number of achievements, including Georgia's first, oldest, and largest CRNA program and the nation's tenth ever Doctor of Nursing Practice Program, which hosts seven concentrations within. 

Ever Onward Award 

This endowment sponsors the purchasing of white coats for BSN students. The remaining funds are use for nursing student needs such as scrubs and stethoscopes. This fund was established in honor of the legacy of Dean Emerita Lucy Marion, whose catchphrase was “Ever Onward.” “Dr. Marion was committed to the profession and dedicated to the success of nursing students. The donations to Ever Onward provide that much more support to students who are truly pursuing a calling like no other. We are so grateful to our donors for honoring her legacy by contributing to the success of future nurses.” – Interim Dean Beth NeSmith.

CON Scholarship Fund

This fund supports students from all nursing programs (BSN, MSN, DNP, PhD) on both the Augusta and Athens campuses. These funds are used to support nursing students with tuition, fees, and other expenses. Last year at our Annual Scholarship Ceremony, the College of Nursing awarded over $190,000 in scholarships to 76 of our outstanding students. “By far, being a scholarship recipient has been the biggest blessing during my time in the College of Nursing. As a non-traditional student with two small children, I was ineligible for most student assistance.
