Augusta University Pep Band
The Augusta University Pep Band performs at all home basketball games for both men’s and women’s games. Membership is open to all AU students and a stipend is awarded to those who have met attendance requirements. The Pep Band also travels to NCAA Division II playoff games. Help us bring live beats to the basketball games and give our students the opportunity to show their talents and rev up the crowds at the Christenberry Fieldhouse.
Sand Hills Literary Magazine
Since 1973, Sand Hills Literary Magazine has been committed to publishing the highest quality of student creative writing and visual art—including work by alumni and award-winning authors Louise Shivers and Judith Ortiz Cofer. More recently, magazine contributors from around the country have also published in Oxford American and Seventeen. Students who contribute creative nonfiction, fiction, poetry, and visual art to Sand Hills benefit from experiencing the process of submitting creative work for publication.
Students whose work is selected for publication benefit by receiving the encouragement and positive feedback necessary for creative artists. The student staff who create the magazine benefit from journal publication experience. The Augusta University and Greater Augusta communities benefit from this showcase of local, creative talent.
Psychological Sciences Student Research Fund
Faculty and students in the Department of Psychological Science are engaged in a wide variety of research that explores development, and basic affective, cognitive, social, and neurological mechanisms of psychological processes. These funds support student projects including travel to conferences to disseminate their findings. The Psychological Sciences Student Research Fund is one of many funds within Pamplin College that directly helps students.
