Advancing Medical Visualization Through Global Learning in Grenada:
Augusta Universityβs study abroad experience in Grenada offers graduate medical illustration students a unique opportunity to connect science, art, and medicine in an international learning environment. Hosted at St. Georgeβs University, this immersive program allows students to engage directly with medical students and faculty while gaining insight into clinical education, biomedical communication, and healthcare training practices.
Through observations of laboratories, simulation spaces, and other learning environments, participants explore how visual communication supports medical education and patient understanding. Students also develop their skills through field sketching and observational studies, using their experiences to create a focused visual project that integrates scientific knowledge, artistic expertise, and experiential learning.
Beyond the academic experience, students gain a broader appreciation for global healthcare education while exploring the culture and environment of Grenada, enriching both their professional and personal perspectives.
Through experiential learning, creative inquiry, and cross-cultural engagement, students deepen their understanding of medical visualization, scientific communication, and themselves.
