Supporting Service‑Driven Learning in Jamaica:

Augusta University’s study abroad experience in Jamaica provides students with the opportunity to serve alongside the dedicated staff of Mustard Seed Communities, supporting children and adults with a wide range of developmental and physical conditions. Through meaningful, hands-on engagement, students gain invaluable real-world experience while building relationships with residents and contributing to a compassionate community of care.

Students participate in daily therapeutic and caregiving activities, from assisting with mealtimes and community outings to leading games, crafts, and group programs. Working closely with Jamaican staff and residents, participants develop essential skills in communication, collaboration, and culturally responsive care while gaining a deeper understanding of the unique challenges and strengths within diverse communities.

Through service, reflection, and cultural immersion, students grow both personally and professionally, expanding their perspectives while making a meaningful impact on the lives of others.

Your support helps make these impactful, service‑oriented learning experiences possible.
